MODIFICATIONS TO WINTER RETREAT
We were scheduled to host a weekend retreat at Camp Edinboro, but that option is no longer feasible due to some policy changes said campground.
Instead, we will be hosting a one-day event at our District Center on February 6th. To note, this event was scheduled to be on January 16th, but our director was exposed to Covid-19 and we made the decision to postpone in response.
This event will be a hybrid retreat – a 2020, do-over of sorts. Meaning on that day we will try 2020 all over again by having a second Easter, a second Cinco De Mayo, a second Fourth of July, and even a second Christmas!
Mt. Chestnut Nazarene Retreat Center
177 North Rd Butler, PA 16001
Jan 16 (11:00 am – 7:00 pm)
WHO CAN ATTEND
Students in grades 7 – 12.
- Regular Rate – $20
If you already registered for Winter Retreat, your registration will be transferred, and you will be reimbursed the difference in cost.
In addition to the cost, we ask that you bring a sled (if you have one) and a wrapped or bagged White Elephant Gift ($10 or less).
Rev. Samantha Vannoy from the Edinobro Hillcrest COTN will be our speaker!
Middle and high school students stay in bunk-style cabins. The female and male cabins are are separate dorms. The dorms are typically assigned so that church groups to stay together. Adult chaperones for each church are required to stay in the cabins with their students.
Students will eat in the dining hall for lunch, and dinner provided by the Rev. Chef Mark Cooper.
We’re in need of volunteers, however, due to COVID-19 restrictions, our number of needed volunteers will be contingent on student registration numbers. Preference will be given to active youth pastors/directors and youth volunteers. With that being said, completion of registration and having a current background check on file with the Pittsburgh District does not guarantee that an individual will be selected as a volunteer. Volunteers will be selected at the direction of our event director.
All participants will have to adhere to our District Center’s Covid-19 guidelines which include signing their “Assumption of Risk and Waiver Liability Relating to Coronavirus/Covid-19”, having your temperature taken, wearing a mask, and social distancing.
