District Monthly Prayer – April

Rev. Daniel Eddings   -

“God—You’re my God! I can’t get enough of You! I’ve worked up such hunger and thirst for God
traveling across dry and weary deserts.” Psalm 63:1 (MSG)

Make the verse personal

God—You’re my God! I can’t get enough of You! I’ve worked up such a hunger and thirst for You, God, as I have traveled across the dry and weary deserts of my life. [List your desires for your relationship with God.]

Spend time with those in your household

Prepare a meal for a family that you know that may know what it is like to go hungry. As you do this all together discuss what it means to be hungry. What are the feelings you feel when you are really hungry? How does it affect your mood? your attitude? How can that be good? be hard? Deliver the meal or invite the family over to your house to eat with you.

Before you sit down to dinner, replace the food and drink that would normally go in the serving dishes and drink glasses with verses about Hungering and Thirsting after God (see below) printed out on 3×5 cards. Spend some time “consuming” the scripture before replacing those cards with your meal for that evening or maybe fast that meal altogether.

Living in Community and sharing the truth that Jesus Is For All the World

Plan a corporate time of fasting and prayer. This could be in your church, work, school, community center or neighborhood. Be intentional. The goal is to seek God alone. Ask only for Him to reveal Himself.
